Dhyani Ywahoo Article # 7- Cherokee Chief or Cherokee FRAUD???
Hello Readers:
This is Harold and in this article we will be looking at the book, "Turning the Wheel- American Women Creating the New Buddhism". This book was written by Sandy Boucher and in part of her book she writes about Dhyani Ywahoo.
If you google the book title you will see many web sites. Go to the one "BOOKS.GOOGLE.CA". You can read this book online. Go to pages 165 thru 174 which are titled "Touching the Earth". Here you can read about her visit with Dhyani Ywahoo.
Since Dhyani Ywahoo has refused to answer any and all my inquires about herself and her claims lets she what she claims in this book.
On page 172 the author states the "Dhyani grew up in a Cherokee community in South Carolina. The original reservation in South Carolina does not exist any more, she says...Her relatives still retain small parcels of it, she goes back now and then to visit".
If this is all true then why would the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation located in "South Carolina" not known Dhyani Ywahoo or her family who live there. In Article #6 the Eastern Band of the Cherokee denyed any knowledge of her, the Ywahoo Line and the Green Mountain Band of the Eastern Cherokee. They went so far as to claim that her Ywahoo Lineage and her Green Mountain Band were FAKE.
On page 167 in this book Sandy Boucher observes, "I am surprised to notice her (Dhyani Ywahoo) eyes are light green".
I contacted Sandy Boucher and told her about the results of my investigation. I asked her if she had done ANY background checks about Dhyani Ywahoo and her claims of being a Cherokee before writing about her. This was her answer.

Dear Charlene,
Re: your concerns about the lineage of Dhyani Ywahoo: I do not have access to any sort of records that could verify someone's Native American lineage.
To address your confusion, what I suggest is that you go and experience Dhyani Ywahoo yourself and decide whether her teachers are helpful to you. That is really the relevant question: is this a teacher who has something to teach you.
Of course I understand your concern. I hope the above is helpful to you.
yours,
SAndy Boucher
She did not do any checks on Dhyani Ywahoo prior to writing about her in that book.
More to come
Harold
