Dear Readers:

This is Harold and in this article we will look at the response of the only recognized Indian Band in Vermont regarding Dhyani Ywahoo and her Green Mountain Band of the Eastern Cherokee.

In article # 2 Jane Lendway representing the State of Vermont stated that only the Abenaki Indian Band are recognized by them.

Subject Re Chief Dhyani Ywahoo

Dear Harold,
I have never heard of this woman. I do not believe she is that well known as I've asked several of my citizens if they had ever heard of her and they all said no. I have lived in Vermont my entire life born and raised here. First of all, Vermont is the Homeland Territory of the Abenaki with the exception of Bennington County that is the original homland of the Stockbridge- Munsee Mohicans who are now located in Wisconsin. Just so you know, in our traditions it is common courtesy when going into anothers's homeland territory you first ask permission to be there. I do this when I travel to other Nation's Homeland Territories. If I was to go in Cherokee Homeland Territory, I would first ask permission to be in their homeland and I would not start Making money on the Traditions of my people in someone else's homeland. Athough, I know this happens often it is sicken me to know it is happening in my territory. This woman sounds like a fraud and I would be careful.

Chief April St. Francis Merrill
Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi
St Francis/Sokoki Band

Lets highlight Chief April St. Francis Merrill's quotes;

1) I have never heard of her.
2) I've asked several of my citizens if they had ever heard of her and they all said no.
3) I have lived in Vermont my entire life born and raised here.
4) This woman sounds like a fraud and I would be careful.

You can google www.abenakination.org for more information about the Abenaki.

What was Dhyani Ywahoo's offical response to this information? SILENCE!

If Dhyani Ywahoo is a real Cherokee and the Chief of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee why has the only recognized Indian Band in Vermont never heard of her. Why has Dhyani Ywahoo never visited the Abenaki Nation and introduced herself and her Cherokee Band to them. Dhyani Ywahoo has lived in Vermont for decades.

More to come

Harold
